Training Cats is Simple and Very Doable

Training Cats is Simple and Very Doable. Virtually anyone and everyone who owns and takes good care of a pet whatever animal it may be, wants their pet to be healthy, happy, and disciplined at all times. That is why almost every responsible pet owner tries their best to train their most precious pets to transform them into the best pet they can be. All companion animals, or pets for short, are highly trainable. There are certain pets however that require more patience when it comes to their training, and one of the best examples of these domestic companion animals is the cat.

Unlike dogs, cats are not considered the easiest of companion animals to train. Cats are widely known throughout the world for being very independent and self-reliant creatures that don’t usually do well in training. The idea of cats being very independent is most certainly true while the idea of training cats to be impossible or very difficult is most certainly not true and with vast amounts of patience and the right and proper knowledge, one will most definitely have the disciplined dream cat he has long been waiting for.

Basically when it comes to the training of one’s pet cat or perhaps cats, there are three ingredients that should be amalgamated and united for the achievement and the success of the whole pet cat training process. The first and most important quality the pet cat trainer must have is a lot of, is patience. This is one of the training ingredients because the training will most definitely take some time and cannot be done in just one sitting. Patience in learning the different ways of training one’s cat, patience in understanding the way a cat thinks and acts, and most of all the patience of doing the training itself without hints of boredom and negativity. Once one has acquired the most coveted virtue of patience then he or she will have a very high percentage of success when it comes to training their cat. Of course this is true with any animal, not just with cats.

The second ingredient in the process of training cats is consistency. Training will only be successful if the ways the pet owner employed right from the beginning is consistently used for the entirety of the training process. Cats are creatures of habit and the only way they can easily learn new stuff is through repetition and consistency. That is why one should always be consistent in applying the pet cat training method from start to finish.

The third and final ingredient when it comes to the training of one’s dear pet feline is through the process of the so-called “reward system”. Cats will only willingly partake and obey the commands taught, or perform if it will get something in return such as treats, praise, or toys. Remember that when a cat performs and does the act or command you tell them, reward them for their good deed accordingly. Basically, for every good act the cat performs, an equal amount of reward such as food, toys, and petting must be given. Never ever result to or use violence and negativity when training cats as such methods only result in a stressed and unproductive feline.

Training one’s pet cat or whatever animal it may be is simple and very doable. Just keep in mind and heart that the three very important ingredients – patience, consistency, and reward are one’s key to success.
